I wonder what John and Yoko’s first date was like? Here is the most famous man in the world and with no chance to be ‘ordinary’ as far as I can see. Did he feel that he had to impress or was he happy just to be in the Beatles and that said it all? Did Yoko become attracted first to the legand and then to the man or vice versa. I guess it must have been legend first because she would not be dating an electrician from Liverpool in a month of Sundays.

What the bloody hell is mature dating? I prefer over 60 dating because it at least has no negative connotations. I am 55 at present but even at 75, I have no intention of being mature. Now I may be alone but the stuff I enjoyed thirty years ago is still the stuff I enjoy today. I still dress young, keep fit, enjoy rock music and lust after beautiful women (I have got one by the way. Yippee!). Disney films, comic books and juvenile humour are still on the menu for me and likely always will be. Is it just me or does mature dating sound like pipe and slippers type territory? Fetch me my cocoa please love and mind me false teeth in the jar next to the milk. Exciting days waiting for the next trip to Tesco and the pensioners special of two for one fish and chips with free mushy peas.

In part, thats why I called this site over 60 dating rather than mature dating. So am I wrong? You tell me.

Mad as it sounds, I had a fabulous day out at the world snooker championships on a first (over 60) date. In my younger days it was sex drugs and rock ‘n’ roll and now it’s snooker and a warm cocoa. There is a point to be made though and that is that we at least made the effort to get out of the house and enjoy the live action. Lots of people like me at over 60 stop enjoying the experience of getting out and about. I have no idea why because my mind is as active as it ever was although the body is a bit knackered. On the subject of rock ‘n’ roll, I have six concerts booked this next few months including Green Day. Also I have been to the theatre twice, cinema 20/30 times and have a holiday booked! Over 60 dating? No problem, just ignore the age and concentrate on the fun.

I am five years short of sixty but I can promise you that I won’t be changing my outlook whatever age I am. The number of people aged 40 who look and act like my grandfather is enormous. Why people settle for M & S sweaters and a life in front of the telly is beyond me. My hair is slightly (very) too long and my clothes trendy. I go to rock concerts, sports events, theatre, cinema and anywhere else that takes my fancy. My girlfriend is the same and we are both dedicated to noy being mutton dressed as lamb but to being young at heart and enjoying our lives to the full.

Over 60, dating and sat alone while my ladyfriend is out at work. I am watching the Newsnight special on the forthcoming election. The room is full of politicians and they all look younger than me. It used to be policemen but now everybody including this dishonest load of self seekers also. The biggest deal is the Nick Clegg factor but god help us if he does well. Just think about all the things you hate about Labour and then imagine an even more left wing party and you have the Liberals. Mr Clegg looks like a nice guy bot boy do i feel old. I would love to hear stories about your first love or your first date. Mine was aged nine and the object of my desire was Theresa Jones. Theresa and I won a competition at the school disco to discover who could do the twist the best. She won the girls and I won the boys and both of us were famous for a couple of days.
